Credit Guarantee Round Table

A dialogue to explore the application of credit guarantees as a tool for leveraging finance for high-risk businesses during periods of economic uncertainty.

In the context of the prevailing Covid-19 crisis, many SMMEs have had to shut down their operations in compliance with national lockdown regulations. It is highly likely that many of these SMMEs will face challenges in restarting their businesses post the lockdown period; particularly with regards to raising capital to restart their businesses. It is in this respect that suitably designed credit guarantee schemes, in collaboration with financial institutions, can have the potential to significantly enhance access to funding for SMMEs.
